Along the way, the drivers stopped at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah KY. They say the quilts there are real works of art...
Shortly after leaving Paducah, the drivers discovered that "nothing over 8 feet wide allowed" REALLY does mean just that...
Love Bungee Cords and Duct Tape!
So, after the narrow escape with the BIG BLUE STEEL BRIDGE, we setted in a lovely campground in Whittington Illinois. Lots of grass, and believe it or not, CHICKENS to chase!
After the recovery period from yesterday was over, the drivers began packing up to hit the road again this morning. They were almost done, so close, when they realized we were locked inside the RV and they were outside with no keys! A locksmith and $50 later, and yet another use for Duct Tape!
Duct Tape now keeps the faulty lock from locking...
At this point it's after noon and the drivers decide that Whittington Woods is such a lovely place, with 20 miles of great biking trails, we will just stay another night. Great idea - and since there are spots with more shade, and we were pretty much packed up, they decide to move to a different spot...
Guess what?
Backing up with one side view mirror
+ A big tree
= A big vodka drink, and no bike riding today!
(but we are all OK and the RV is still operational - at this point)
The bikes survived unscathed - and still unridden!
ReplyDeleteDaisy looks like she is having fun riding up front!
ReplyDeleteYour adventure seems to be full of fun mishaps, sounds like the Grizzwald's family vacation pt.2
We are taking G-unit to dinner tonight. Talk to you soon!
